The Thoracic Surgery Group, formerly the Surgical Oncology Group (Surgery II)　in Hokkaido University, has mainly been providing care and treatment for patients with malignant tumors. Our policy is “gentle care”, we have been working on the development of minimally invasive surgeries such as thoracoscopic surgery. We have been providing comprehensive treatment on refractory tumors as well through collaborations with related departments. These policies do not have the change. From 2012, We have build team up with Cardiovascular Surgery Group and seek a new treatment strategy by using the merits of each group. Please look forward to the formation of a new Thoracic Surgery Group.
